MANILA, Philippines — Ayala-led ACEN Corp. has secured a renewable energy supply deal to power the Philippine AXA Life Center, a 28-story office tower in Makati under the portfolio of Federal Land Inc.
The property’s transition to clean power was carried out through a supply agreement with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), the retail electricity supply unit of ACEN.
Arturo Tanyag, president of the Philippine AXA Life Center Condominium Corp., said the move is a crucial step in advancing the company’s commitment to “responsible property management.”
“While the Philippine AXA Life Centre has stood as a pillar of stability in Makati for decades, we believe that true resilience involves adapting to the needs of the future,” Tanyag said.
Completed in 1996, the tower was developed by Heritage Consolidated Assets Inc. The developer is an affiliate of Federal Land, the property arm of Ty-led conglomerate GT Capital Holdings Inc.
With this shift, Tanyag expects the property not only to lower its carbon footprint, but also to create a business environment that supports the tenants’ sustainability efforts.
As part of this partnership, ACEN RES awarded the Philippine AXA Life Center with the “Powered by Renewable Energy” badge, which is granted to businesses and institutions fully committed to energy transition.
“As we see more established commercial hubs like this make the switch, it sends a powerful message that sustainability is now a business imperative,” said Sheila Mina, vice president and account management head at ACEN RES.
ACEN RES is the leading supplier under the government’s green energy option program, a policy that enables end-users with an average monthly peak demand of at least 100 kilowatts to choose their preferred clean power provider.
Its parent, ACEN, is among the Philippines’ largest power producers, with a growing portfolio in Australia, Vietnam, Laos and India. Source: https://www.philstar.com/business/2026/02/21/2509305/federal-land-tower-goes-green-acen
